Meet with experts for each kit to learn more about the science behind your experiment and show off your completed kits on S.T.E.M. Night! Each S.T.E.M. kit contains information about logging into your virtual
Zoom sessions. 


Three time slots to choose from: 6:00pm, 6:30pm, or 7:00pm.

Can your egg survive being dropped off the Emerson roof?

Sign up early!!

  • Look at the kit options below and choose your favorites.

  • Before February 26: 
    Use this form to request 1-2 of your favorite kits.

  • Complete a separate form for each student in your family.

  • Students attending school in person will received kits on March 8.

  • Students attending remotely can pick up their kits from Emerson starting March 9.

  • Complete your kit and come show it off on March 24th.

Pneumatic Machine

Experiment with the science of pneumatics (air-pressure power) to create a simple machine with a moving lift arm.

Hydroponic Growing

Grow plants without soil! Build your own hydroponic system and grow some tasty greens from seed using basic materials.


Crystal Snowflake

Use Borax to create a snowflake as beautiful and unique as a snowflake you capture from the sky!  Learn about crystals and chemistry.


Extracting Strawberry DNA

Learn about how living things pass on traits and isolate DNA from strawberries.


Can you design and build a container that keeps a fresh egg protected when dropped from the roof of Emerson Elementary??

Due to COVID guidelines, only 30 students/teams can participate in the Egg Drop Challenge. There will be three egg drop sessions of 10 students/teams. You need to sign up to participate.

Follow the rules in the link below and bring your container to Emerson on the 20th at your assigned time.

We will provide you with an egg and drop all 10 containers off the roof of the school. After all the containers have dropped, we will see whose eggs survived the fall!
